We bought a new house in 2005! While we'd been pretty happy out in the 'burbs, we felt it was time to move closer into the city. We were looking for a shorter commute, a more established neighborhood, and more places for Gelina to dig in the dirt. Looks like we found it all in this '50s rambler. It's in a great location, got tons of trees, and has a big yard that backs up to a neat little pond. We're very excited. We still have some work to do - paitning, decorating, landscaping, etc... but it's all good. Here're some pics from the day we closed. You can also check out the pics of our first house. |
Very cool cut glass front door. |
Living room with wood-burning fireplace. The floors are all either original hardwood or new tile. |
And here's the living room after we moved in a spent a little time decorating. |
Another shot of the living room - note that the cats have gotten pretty comfortable. |
Lots of plants both out front and in back |
Dinning room with great view of the pond. There's a patio off to the left. |
The kitchen is kind of a one-butt style, but the counters all all granite and it has great halogen task lighting. |
The upstairs bath had been updated, which was nice but it was still pretty plain. |
We painted and re-dcorated it to add more color and texture. |
View of the pond and backyard from the upstairs patio. We have a mix of oak, elm, pine, and maple trees. |
George the raccoon - he lives in the hollow of a tree right outside our kitchen window. |
The back of the house - the upper patio will have our outdoor dinning area with the grill and the lower patio will have a garden bench and hammock. |
The home theater room downstairs along with the second fireplace. |
This will be the home gym. |
View of the yard and pond from the gym window |
Our home from the other other side of the pond. |
