We took up kayaking as a quiet and elegant way to explore one of our favorite places to vacation - the Apostle Islands. After our first open water crossing to Sand Island, we were hooked. Since then we've traveled a lot a places by kayak. We found our boat to be like owning mobile lake front property - wherever we go we've always got a million-dollar view. We had been renting boats for years, but in 2003 we got our own Folbot GII. You can see photos of it on our kayak page. Our future plans include a trip to Isle Royale, Pictured Rocks, and the Superior Water Trail. When we finally get out of this rat race in 20 years or so, I think that it would be a hoot to circumnavigate Lake Superior. Here are some of the wonderful places we've paddled:
