G's Mom's Broccoli Salad
 
 
5 cups    or 1 large head broccoli, chopped  
6-8   strips of crisp bacon  
1/2 to 1 cup    raisins (depending on likes)  
1 medium    carrot, shredded  
1 small    onion  
1/4 cup    grated cheddar cheese (optional)  
1 head    cauliflower  
1/2 to 1 cup    sunflower seeds  
 
Per G's Mom, "You can add just amount any amount of the above items you want to the broccoli. 1 head of cut up cauliflower can also be put in this, but at $4.00 for a small head, I figured Fareway could keep it." "By the way, don't put the cheese and/or sunflower seeds on until just before serving. Good luck." "The original recipe calls for 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons vinegar. But I was out of mayonnaise - so I had some hidden valley mixed up added a little sugar and vinegar and put that on the salad. I liked it better."
