Belize - our first stop outside of Mexico as part of our continuing exploration of the Caribbean. Belize (or British Honduras as we learned it in school) is the first country in Central America - just south of Mexico and east of Guatemala. It's a gorgeous country where somehow pirates, Mayans, ex-pats, beach bums, rastafarians, indians, former slaves, and Mennonites all manage to get along in a peaceful, English-speaking democracy. So far we've just made 2 visits, both of them to Caye Caulker, but we really enjoyed them and are planning on return trips to see more of the country. Next up maybe Placencia, with a side trip to Tikal. Hope you enjoy the photos from our trips:
